Welcome to Red Cactus Collective — where strategy meets soul to help your business show up online with clarity, confidence, & a bit of grit.
About Me
I’m a web designer with a background in education, design, and systems thinking. I create clean, functional websites that help mission-driven individuals and organizations communicate clearly, reach the right audience, and share why their work matters.
My work combines thoughtful design, clear messaging, and modern development practices to create websites that are both beautiful and practical to maintain. I focus on building sites that not only look good, but also support the goals of the people and organizations behind them.
My Background
Before moving into web development, I served in the Air Force and Air National Guard, taught middle school math, and led technology initiatives in public education. Today I also work in workforce and career development in higher education, helping connect education, technology, and evolving workforce needs.
These experiences shape how I approach my work: with curiosity, clarity, and a focus on helping people navigate complex systems and communicate what they do in ways that resonate.
Originally from a small town in Michigan, I now split my time between design and raising two amazing boys (plus our dog, Remi, and cat, Bernie).
Thoughtful Use of AI
My background in education and technology leadership shapes how I approach emerging tools like AI. I focus on helping clients understand how these technologies can support their work in practical and responsible ways.
Artificial intelligence is changing how people create content, communicate, and run their businesses. I’m interested in the practical side of these tools — how they can help organizations save time, generate ideas, and work more efficiently without losing their voice or authenticity.
I help clients understand when AI can be helpful, when it shouldn’t be used, and how to apply it responsibly in their websites, marketing, and everyday workflows.
